The Neema-Sozo Way
Making True Change Possible

Observing a great need in the Kibera slum area, Neema-Sozo began concentrating its outreach efforts to assist homeless orphans. Utawala Nyumba ya Watoto Children's Home, The Hesed House & Mapacha Wapenzi Home in Embakasi East, Kenya were established to provide housing, medical, schooling, and individualized care with a family-style approach in a community setting. Located in Nairobi, Utawala Nyumba ya Watoto was the first children’s home opened in 2023, serving 6 children ages 5 to 12 whose parents were deceased or unknown. The Mapacha Wapenzi mission supports college students with tuition, housing, and disaster relief. The Hesed House is a four-acre homestead with a newly built social home for refugees and is the future site of Hesed Community Sustainable Farms.

HOW IT ALL STARTED
OUR MISSION
The Neema-Foundation was established with the noble goal of providing assistance to those who are in need. Our mission is to serve- alleviate the suffering of the poor, the distressed, and the underprivileged. At Neema-Sozo, we believe that every interaction is an opportunity to make a genuine difference. That's why we are committed to creating positive impact in the lives of those who we come in contact with. Join us in our mission to make the world a better place, one interaction a time.
The Neema-Sozo Foundation is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) that provides humanitarian services throughout the country of Kenya. In February 2022, two friends began working together towards a shared common goal- serving vulnerable and underprivileged communities. The first project completed was a new construction home giveaway to a war refugee single mother of 4, followed by a second that same year in Homa Bay County. Neema-Sozo then ramped up its outreach efforts within its first year by providing water delivery to drought-stricken areas and, constructing permanent wells, benevolence ministries, healthcare, education, housing permanently displaced youth, and emergency relief to the people of Homa Bay, Nairobi, Athi River and surrounding areas.
OUR INITIATIVES
Through our efforts, we have been able to provide essential resources and support to vulnerable children, improving their quality of life and offering them hope for a brighter future. Our initiatives have also strengthened community resilience by ensuring access to basic necessities, which helps reduce the long-term impact of crises. As a result, we have fostered a stronger, more united community capable of facing future challenges together.
Social Housing for Orphans
Children adopted by Neema-Sozo are provided a stable, safe home in a nurturing environment., receiving the attention, social and emotional support to promote healthy relationships with others . All children have total health coverage, attend school, church, and participate in other community activities.
Disaster Relief & Benolovence
Provide emergency evacuation/relocation, recovery of property/replacement of personal essential items, and transport services to safe areas.
The Benevolence Ministry assists those in need in the local community, distributing food and clothing donations to those who are living malnourished, living in poverty or in difficult circumstances.
Access to Clean Drinking Water
As of July 2024, Kenya is currently facing the worst drought in 60 years. Water delivery provides immediate relief and drilling wells in those areas provide continuous access to clean drinking water.

Community Revitalation
Community transformation is a powerful force that can bring about positive change in society By working together, individuals can create a better future for themselves and their communities. Whether it's through volunteering, activism, or simply being a good neighbor, everyone has a role to play in transforming their community for the better. Let's work together to create a brighter.
Educational Assistance
Support the education of disadvantaged children and young people in Kenya, including primary school, secondary school, college, university, and vocational courses. Assistance provided ranges from housing, school fees, textbooks, transportation, groceries, uniforms, and laptops.
Employment Opportunites
Employment of women who are sole income earners results in increased financial resources, and greater opportunities, and fulfills both roles of provider and positive role model in the home. When an increased standard of living is experienced, it enhances the mental, and physical health, and well-being of the women and their children.
